In My Hands- MACC Girls Club- led by artist Jasna Guy

Each ‘hand portrait,’ was photographed in black and white. The enlarged images provided the basis for further elaboration through a variety of art materials. As part of the self-study process, the girls also engaged in idea gathering―some based on fun palm-reading and astrology, and some based on deeper reflection on their lives, their dreams and future plans. From this initial idea gathering, the girls chose descriptive words and phrases that they then added to their hand portraits, combining text with designs of their own making to create a personal artistic statement about who they are and how they see themselves at this point of their lives.
